Figure 8 Truck Race
The Morrow County Antique Tractor & Equipment Association, Inc. Figure 8 Race is self-promoted as an unusual spectator attraction. In the interest of safety, drivers and pit crews are subject to, and must obey, the following rules and regulations, which are set forth by the Association and Track Officials. Figure 8 racing is a hazardous and high risk sport. Neither the Association nor Track Officials are responsible for any injuries sustained by drivers or pit crews before, during or after the event.
Types of Trucks
Any two wheel drive 1/2, 3/4 or 1-ton single drive wheel truck. No dually's running single wheels or 4x4 chassis. If there are enough small trucks (S10, Rangers, etc.) and or cars, there will be a separate race.
Preparation of Vehicle
1. All side and rear glass shall be removed. Windshields are optional.
2. Radiator must remain in OEM location. Extra metal bracing is recommended to protect the radiator, but not to extend beyond the front bumper.
3. Bumpers may be replaced with uop to 6" material. It is recommended the front bumper ends be cut off 6" past frame for tire clearance. No sharp edges protruding.
4. Only D.O.T. approved tires (any size). No studded or cut tires. All wheel weights must be removed.
5.  If battery or fuel tank is moved to close proximity of driver, they must be securely fastened and covered.
6. Vehicle may be gas or diesel powered, but free of additives.
7. Vehicles must have working brakes.
8. Vehicle must have working seat belts.
Rules
1. All participants shall be 18 years old or older with a valid driver's license and sign a waiver to participate.
2. All participants must attend a mandatory driver's meeting prior to race.
3. Participant shall not be pregnant or under the influence of alcohol or any other drug.
4. Participant shall provide the following mandatory safety equipment, including helmet with chin strap, shoes, long pants, shirt and eye protection.
5. All vehicles will be inspected by Track Officials for good working seat belt, secure seat and good working brakes- capable of stopping the vehicle. If the brakes are deemed leaking or inadequate to safely stop the vehicle, vehicle will not be allowed to participate.
6. Track Officials have the right to reject any entries and to reinspect any vehicle at any time.
7. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUND OF ENTRY FEE FOR RULE VIOLATIONS.
Competition Rules
1. This is not a demolition derby. Deliberately backing into another vehicle to disable it will result in IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION. Backing is permitted ONLY when trapped or blocked.
2. No intentional hitting of driver's area.
3. No body parts shall be extended outside the vehicle at any time.
4. Any bedside panels, advertising signs, ballast weights or any other parts that come off because of not being secured may lead to immediate disqualification. Be sure all side panels, signs, batteries, fuel tanks, auxiliary cooling tanks, etc. are SECURE.
