On a near perfect day, members and friends of the Morrow County Antique Tractor & Equipment Association, Inc. gathered at Rodney Clinger's farm outside Edison Saturday, October 16th. They unloaded their antique tractors and plows and proceeded to turn over about 28 acres of land.
There were 17 tractors in all and at least that many spectators as well. Everyone enjoyed watching the tractors with their one, tow and three-bottom plows work the ground for a while, and then they took a lunch break and enjoyed a potluck of chili, sloppy joes, deviled eggs, cookies and other treats. Then it was back out to the field to finish up. All in all, it took the 17 tractors from nine in the morning until about four in the afternoon to finish up the field. there was some struggle with the bean stubble clogging up the plows, but everyone enjoyed the day. It's not often you get to see the older equipment doing the job that is now always done with the bigger, newer tractors.
